NGL Energy announced an open season from Dec. 6 to Jan. 5 for its Grand Mesa crude oil pipeline. The 550-mile pipeline follows a path from the Denver-Julesburg Basin to the Cushing hub terminal in Cushing, Oklahoma.
The available capacity for shippers is 40,000 boe/d, while the pipeline has a total capacity of 150,000 boe/d.
NGL, the sole owner of the Mesa pipeline, held open seasons for the conduit in 2016 and 2021. The current open season allows producers to contract the available capacity at a discounted rate, the company said.
The Cushing hub provides connections to midcontinent refining facilities, as well as to the Texas Gulf Coast. The hub has a storage capacity of 94 MMbbl but thanks to the current market demand for crude, it only had 27.7 MMbbl on site as of Nov. 24, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
