ONEOK (OKE) strengthened its NGL position in Texas, announcing the completion of two projects on Dec. 4.
In Mont Belvieu, near Houston, the midstream company finished a 125,000 bbl/d NGL fractionator. The additional natural gas processing boosts the company’s capacity to more than 1 MMbbl/d and lessens ONEOK’s dependence on third parties for processing, according to its announcement.
ONEOK also announced the completion of a full looping for the West Texas NGL Pipeline. “Looping” refers to the process of adding another pipeline parallel to one already in the ground. The West Texas NGL Pipeline is a 2,600-mile line starting in southeastern New Mexico and hits the Barnett Shale in central Texas before terminating at Mont Belvieu.
The looping project expands the line’s capacity to 515,000 bbl/d. ONEOK plans to add additional pump stations by mid-2025, further increasing capacity to 740,000 bbl/d.
“These strategic expansions provide critical NGL transportation and fractionation capacity, supporting NGL growth across our integrated operations,” Pierce H. Norton II, ONEOK president and CEO, said in the release.
