Paul Markwell has joined Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) as director, global oil markets group, based in the U.K. and responsible for business development in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Markwell was most recently European petroleum practice manager for McKinsey & Co. Previously, he was general manager for British-Borneo's business in Pakistan, and in upstream business-development roles at Hardy Oil and Gas and Shell UK.

Dallas-based Dresser Inc. chief executive officer Patrick M. Murray has retired and become chairman. Steven G. Lamb, president, is now CEO as well. William E. Macaulay, Dresser chairman, has stepped down and remains on the board.

John T. La Duc has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer of Foster Wheeler Ltd., Hamilton, Bermuda (OTC Bulletin Board: FWLRF). La Duc was most recently executive vice president and chief financial officer of Kaiser Aluminum Corp.

Nelson Obus has been appointed to the board of Layne Christensen Co., Mission Woods, Kan. (Nasdaq: LAYN). Obus is the president of Wynnefield Capital Management LLC.

Bob Copeland has been appointed chief operating officer of Patch Safety Services Ltd., Calgary (Toronto Venture: PSS). Copeland was vice president, business development, of Integrated Production Services Ltd.

Rod Allan has been appointed chief financial officer of Petro Field Industries Inc., Calgary (Toronto Venture: PF). Allan has been in management roles in the oil and gas services sector for seven years.

Steven Brading has resigned as vice president and chief financial officer of T-3 Energy Services Inc., Houston (Nasdaq: TTES). He previously was with Osca Inc.

Christopher D. Strong has been appointed chief executive officer of privately held Union Drilling, Pittsburgh. He is currently president.
