Technological innovation and increased digitalization will be keys to the future success of shales. iShaleTM is Shell’s R&D program that explores what the shale field of the future could look like – leveraging recent advances in automation, digitalization and advanced analytics to enhance well productivity while delivering significant decreases in costs and safety risks. Elements of the iShaleTM are already being tested across Shell’s shale assets, including Permian, and winning solutions are integrated into designs and operations.
