Swift Energy Co., Houston, (NYSE: SFY) plans to acquire interests in three South Texas properties from privately held Escondido Resources LP, a company financed by Houston-based private equity firm EnCap Investments LP, for $245 million. The assets include nearly 100% working interest in 185 wells in the Maverick Basin on an aggregate 82,900 acres in the Sun TSH area in La Salle County, the Briscoe Ranch area primarily in Dimmit County, and the Las Tiendas area in Webb County. Net production is approximately 21 million cubic feet equivalent per day (85% gas and gas liquids). Proved reserves are 77 billion cubic feet equivalent (70% proved developed) and probable reserves are 46 billion cubic feet equivalent.
