WesternGeco recently launched its Omega (Omega) Suite of seismic processing and reservoir definition technologies, spanning the seismic continuum from survey evaluation and design to sophisticated signal enhancement techniques, advanced imaging, inversion to rock properties and time-lapse analysis.
The comprehensive and fully integrated group of technology families covers all aspects of seismic processing and reservoir definition:
Omega-Signal - processing
and data conditioning;
Omega-Time - time imaging
and velocity analysis;
Omega-Depth - depth imaging
and velocity model building;
Omega-Vector - multicomponent
processing, imaging and analysis;
Omega-Reservoir - reservoir property
prediction; and
Omega-Production - time-lapse reservoir analysis.
The Omega-Suite has been designed to encompass all existing WesternGeco technologies, provide a logical structure to accommodate the latest developments, and create a new framework for the WesternGeco data processing and reservoir seismic services portfolio of algorithms and workflows.
The Omega-Suite is supported by two integrated software platforms - the Omega2 seismic processing system that provides the main building blocks for Omega-Signal, Omega-Time, Omega-Depth and Omega-Vector, with Omega-Reservoir and Omega-Production falling primarily within the ocean environment. Together these software platforms enable the creation of efficient and seamless workflows across the seismic domain.
