TGS is offering early access to its carbon storage dataset along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast, covering the available Texas General Land Office (GLO) lease blocks, the data company announced July 15.
The assessment details formation tops, petro-physically interpreted logs and reservoir mapping, including the maximum carbon storage per volume per formation.
TGS said the carbon storage assessment, scheduled for release in early August, is developed from the largest subsurface library in the world.
The dataset will assist bidders in maximizing their bidding accuracy and drive “sustainable” growth in the carbon capture and storage sector, TGS said.
“Participants in the GLO Lease Round can expect to leverage TGS data to navigate complexities and seize promising opportunities in carbon capture and storage,” said Carel Hooijkaas, executive vice president of new energy solutions at TGS.
