Trillion Energy announced the start of their revitalization project for the South Akcakoca Sub-Basin (SASB) gas field in the Southwestern Black Sea.
A total of 49 m of new gas pay will be perforated in Guluc-2, South Akcakoca-2, West Akcakoca-1 and Akcakoca-3 gas wells prior to the installation of the artificial gas lift, the company said April 8.
Initially slated to start at the end of the first quarter, the project’s delay coincided with the implementation of a new artificial lift program. The program consists primarily of velocity strings, which are cheaper and easier to install than traditional PCP pumps. Velocity strings will be used for step one of the project with a new water pump being installed in the future to prevent water loading.
