U.K.-based energy consultancy Xodus Group has created an offshore renewables engineering arm as global developments ramp up, the company said June 17.
Called Evolv Energies, the new entity will provide engineering services targeting contracts in concept technology, pre-FEED, FEED and detailed design stages of offshore renewable energy projects. The entity, which will be led by Chris Finnigan as vice president, plans to recruit 150 people by year-end 2025, according to a news release.
“Nearly 8,000 new U.K. wind turbines and close to 81,000 new wind turbines around the globe will be required to meet targets by 2050,” said Xodus CEO Steve Swindell. “Therefore, we know there’s a gap in the market for us as countries around the world increasingly explore energy transition opportunities.”
