Since Oceaneering established its first onshore remote operations center in Stavanger, Norway, in 2015, the company has led the industry with cutting-edge technology. Oceaneering has since expanded its onshore remote operations centers to additional locations around the world, including Morgan City, Louisiana, and Aberdeen, Scotland. Our experienced personnel provide unparalleled operational flexibility and improved productivity. Remote operations from shore can be used for a variety of work scopes including commissioning, underwater inspections, surveys, rig moves, and decommissioning. This also brings many benefits including reducing operational costs by eliminating the need for a vessel to stay on standby while an ROV system completes its work scope. Additionally, by bringing personnel to work from an onshore remote operations center, operators can reduce both the cost of mobilizing personnel offshore and the carbon footprint associated.

IndustryVoice: North Sea Remote Pipeline Isolation from the Beach
Remote operations from shore aren’t science fiction. Two industry companies teamed up to decommission a pair of pipelines on Equinor’s Veslefrikk field in the North Sea using a resident ROV system and remotely operated pipeline isolation solution. Using remotely operated ROVs and pigging tools helped to reduce HSE risks to personnel and decrease the carbon footprint of operations.
