Subsidiary Penn West Petroleum Ltd. privately placed US$160 million of 5.68% notes due 2015, US$155 million of 5.8% notes due 2017, US$140 million of 5.9% notes due 2019 and US$20 million of 6.05% notes in 2022 to pay a portion of other debt.
