Jonah Energy LLC appointed Patrick Welch vice president and CFO, the Denver-based company said April 24.
Welch most recently served as executive vice president and CFO of JP Energy Partners from November 2013 through its recent merger with American Midstream Partners (NYSE: AMID).
Previously, Welch held CFO roles with Atlantic Power Corp. (NYSE: AT) and a privately-held renewable energy company, and provided consulting services to many upstream and midstream energy companies. He began his career in public accounting with PwC and Deloitte before transitioning to leadership roles with DCP Midstream LP (NYSE: DCP) and Dynegy Inc. (NYSE: DYN).
Welch holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and is a certified public accountant. His appointment was effective April 10.

Jonah Energy is one of the largest privately-held natural gas producers in the U.S. and is continuing to explore expansion opportunities in established basins throughout the onshore U.S., according to the company release.
The Jonah Field, located in Sublette County, Wyo., was the company's first acquisition in 2014. Jonah Energy's investor group is led by TPG Capital LLC and includes EIG Global Energy Partners and management.
