Exillon Energy reported in a drilling update several oil discoveries in two oil-rich regions of Russia.

In the company’s West Siberia (Exillon WS) concession, Well EWS I-91, spudded on May 18 and drilled and cemented in 20 days, encountered the Jurassic P reservoir at 1,856 m (6,089 ft) confirming 4.3 m (14 ft) of effective vertical net oil pay and 7.2 m (23 ft) of net pay along the well bore, according to a news release. The well, connected to the company’s existing production facilities, is currently operating with a submersible pump flowing oil at 377 b/d.

Well EWS I-72, spudded on June 8 and drilled and cemented in 18 days, encountered the Jurassic P reservoir at 1,876 m (6,155 ft), confirming 4.3 m (14 ft) of effective vertical net oil pay, the release said. The well is currently operating with a submersible pump flowing oil at 94 b/d.

In the Timan-Pechora (Exillon TP) concession, appraisal well North ETP VI-3, spudded on March 27 and drilled and cemented in 84 days, encountered Lower Silurian reservoir at 3,175 m (10,417 ft), confirming 12.2 m (40 ft) of absolute effective net oil pay, the release said. The well is currently being tested with natural oil rates to surface ranging from 488 b/d on an 18-mm choke to 92 b/d on a 6-mm choke.

Well ETP IV-5002 was spudded on Feb. 12 and drilled and cemented in 64 days on the northern part of the ETP IV field, the release said. The well encountered Lower Silurian reservoir at 3,272 m (10,735 ft), confirming 15.6 m (51 ft) of absolute effective net oil pay. In addition, the well encountered Domanic reservoir at 3,245 m (10,646 ft), confirming 5.7 m (19 ft) of absolute effective net oil. Due to the angled trajectory of the well bore, this well exposed 25.4 m (83 ft) of effective net oil pay.

The well is currently operating with a submersible pump flowing oil at 8 b/d, according to the release. To increase the flow rate from this well Exillon will consider conducting an acid hydrofrack in the upcoming winter season.
