Lawrence G. Rawl, former chairman and chief executive officer of Exxon Corp. (now ExxonMobil Corp.), Irving, Texas, (NYSE: XOM) has passed away. He was 76. Rawl began his career with Humble Oil & Refining Co., the predecessor to Exxon Co. He was named president of Exxon in 1985, and in 1987 he was elected chairman and CEO, a post he held until he retired in May 1993. Rawl was also a director of Texas Medical Center, Texas Commerce Bancshares, Warner-Lambert Co., Champion International Corp. and the American Petroleum Institute.
