Forest Oil Corp., Denver, (NYSE: FST) reports two wells in the Texas Panhandle Granite Wash had combined initial production of 69 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day.

Well #8 (100% working interest) had initial production of 14.2 million cubic feet of gas, 3,014 barrels of oil and condensate and 2,094 barrels of gas liquids for a total 45 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Well #9 (93.8% working interest) had initial production of 8.5 million cubic feet of gas, 897 barrels of oil and condensate and 1,629 barrels of gas liquids for a total 24 million cubic feet equivalent per day.

Forest’s total average 24-hour production rate from its horizontal Granite Wash program is 29 million cubic feet equivalent per day, of which 60% of the equivalent rate is attributable to liquids.

Forest’s rig count in the south fairway is now four. The company plans to run one rig in the central/north fairway throughout the remainder of the year, bringing the total operated rig count in the area to five rigs.

Forest has oil and gas operations primarily in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Wyoming and in Canada.
