Kallisto Energy Corp. has recovered 32° API Elkton crude oil during operations to recover fluids used in the well 16-26-027-01W5 (16-26) completion in Crossfield, Alberta, Canada, a news release said.
The recovery of crude oil from the 16-26 well is consistent with Kallisto's geological interpretation that the well would encounter a down-dip Elkton oil leg. The interpreted oil leg is on the same trend as multiple reservoirs that have similar characteristics, according to the company.
Completion operations included specialized logs, perforation and acid treatments, and recording of pressure information, all consistent with industry practices and the conditions of the 16-26 well license. The company said it is continuing completion and testing operations on the 16-26 well to determine productivity. Additional information will be made available as it is obtained and evaluated.
