Lamprell announced in a press release that it has successfully completed and delivered the first of two Caspian Sea jackup rigs to a client. The rig was recently towed out from the Astrakhan reassembly yard in Russia to commence operations on the company’s first contract elsewhere in the Caspian Sea.
The group is making good progress in relation to the ongoing second Caspian Sea project, which already is well under way is expected to be delivered in 4Q 2014, according to the release. The first two module shipments already have been transferred from the group’s facility in Hamriyah in the United Arab Emirates to the Astrakhan yard as planned and on time.
