Jim Stafford, who founded the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) in 1979, passed away in Ada, Okla., in May. A tireless advocate for the nearly 3 million U.S. royalty owners, he was NARO president for more than 20 years and a frequent speaker on oil and gas issues. He also helped form what became the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB) and served six years as public education chairman for OERB.
