The Oyo-7 well offshore Nigeria encountered gross oil pay of 41 m (133 ft) and gross gas pay of 31 m (103 ft) in the gas cap from the currently producing Pliocene reservoir, with excellent reservoir quality, CAMAC Energy said in a news release.
The information is based on logging while drilling data. Oyo-7 commenced drilling operations on Sept. 9, 2013.
The top of the reservoir was penetrated at 1,696 m (5,564 ft). The well is currently drilling to the planned total depth of 2,450 m (8,038 ft) and is expected to penetrate the deep Miocene secondary objective, the release said.
