Pembina Pipeline Corp. began construction on the CA$235 million expansion of its pipeline infrastructure in northeast British Columbia after receiving regulatory approval, the company said Jan. 6.
The NEBC expansion entails the construction of about 145 kilometers of 12-inch pipeline with a base design capacity of up to 75,000 barrels per day that will parallel much of the existing Blueberry Pipeline system northwest of Taylor, British Columbia, to the Highway/Blair Creek area of British Columbia.
The NEBC expansion will carry NGL and condensate from the Montney to Pembina’s downstream pipeline systems feeding into the Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, markets.
The expansion will likely be online in late 2017.
Pembina Pipeline Corp. is based in Calgary, Alberta.
