Alliance Oil and Repsol have begun commercial gas production from the Syskonsyninskoye (SK) field in the Khanty-Mansiysk region of Russia, according to a news release.
The production marks the first success of the A&R Oil and Gaz BV (AROG) joint venture created to explore for and produce hydrocarbons in Russia, the release continued. Initial daily gas production is 855,000 cu m and is being delivered to the Gazprom transportation network, the release stated. To date, five production wells have been drilled and three of these have been put into operation.
Plans in the coming year for the field include drilling six more wells from five locations by early 2014, according to the release.
AROG’s total output currently stands at 25,000 boe/d and its proven and probable reserves amount to 278 MMboe.
