Sound Oil plans to test the Nervesa appraisal well onshore Italy at the end of August, the company said in a press release. After the testing program, the company will announce the field’s estimated quantity of commercial gas.
In a statement made to investors, Sound Oil said it has started rig demobilization in preparation for the testing. Before it was demobilized, a 7-in. liner was run and set, seven gas levels were perforated, and a double-string production was set, according to the press release.
Sound Oil drilled the Nervesa appraisal well in July. The well encountered 46 m (151 ft) of net gas pay in 13 zones, from 476 m (1,562 ft) of gross pay and 239 m (784 ft) of gross reservoir, the company said. Sound Oil intends to apply for a production concession for Nervesa with a view to achieving first gas sales in 2015.
