Tenaris announced it broke ground on its first U.S. seamless pipe mill, which will be constructed near Bay City, Texas, in Matagorda County. With an estimated investment of $1.5 billion , the new facility—named TenarisBayCity—will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 tons of high quality seamless pipe.
Tenaris recently completed the purchase of the site, and has obtained all necessary permits and approvals to begin construction by late September. Construction is expected to last approximately 30 months. The facility is expected to be fully operational by mid-2016.
