Paris-based multinational Total and its Russian partner Novatek will develop Termokarstovoye Field in Russia. The gas-condensate field is in the Yamal Nenets autonomous district, about 250 km east of Tarko-Sale. The field has a potential of 1.6 Tcf of gas and 72 MM bbl. of condensate.
First production is slated for 2015, and production capacity is forecast at 65,000 BOE/d. The exploration and production license for the field is held by ZAO Terneftegas, a joint venture of Novatek (51%) and Total (49%).
Total noted in a press release that it owns a 14.09% share of Novatek, and that the two entities are partners in the Yamal LNG project.
