Buoyancy specialist Trelleborg Offshore has won its first order with Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the supply of drill riser buoyancy modules (DRBMs).
Trelleborg said in a press release that the order from HHI is a milestone as it means the company now has links with all four major construction contractors in South Korea.
The company’s various DRBM designs are fitted around drill riser pipe to provide both buoyancy and protection for the riser during service.
