Houston-based Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. LLC (TPH) has expanded its investment management efforts with the hiring of Paul Chambers as portfolio manager and the formation and registration of TPH Asset Management LLC.
During the past ten years, Chambers was the global sector head of energy and utilities at Citadel Asset Management and previously led the global energy equity investment effort at UBS O'Connor.
"Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. has clearly established itself as a thought leader in the energy sphere, providing clients with institutional quality offerings," says Dan Pickering, TPH co-president. "Expanding TPH's expertise within asset management will further leverage the resources of the firm, as well as utilize our proven relationships in the energy sector and the experience of our talented portfolio management team."
Chambers joins Walker Moody, TPH's head of asset management, hired in early 2010. Moody previously worked for Goldman Sachs & Co. within its investment management division. Leading the efforts of the new division, Moody evaluates strategic opportunities in asset management for TPH and is currently developing a platform of energy-specific investment opportunities in public securities which includes hiring energy-focused portfolio management talent and implementing an institutional quality asset management infrastructure. The firm will initially focus on an energy sector equity long/short offering and later, yield-oriented energy credit investments.
TPH Asset Management delivers a suite of energy investment strategies to its investors. TPH Asset Management, Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. Securities Inc. and Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. International LLP are affiliates of TPH.
