In light of the recent earthquake in central Texas, the city of San Antonio warns that such tremors can be caused by oil and gas production. When we think earthquakes, most Americans visualize California, especially the San Andreas fault line which runs San Francisco down to the Mexican Baja. I can honestly say that this is the first time I heard about E&P being responsible. In any case, be prepared for yet ANOTHER challenge to drilling, especially in places with high tectonic activity. When the big one finally hits the Golden State, expect protesters out in Long Beach. –Stephen Payne, Editor, Oil and Gas Investor This Week; spayne@hartenergy.com
