NuVista Energy Ltd., Calgary, (Toronto: NVA) plans to acquire properties in the Ferrier/Sunchild and Wapiti areas of Alberta and in northwestern Saskatchewan from an undisclosed seller for approximately C$53 million in cash. Current production from the acquired properties is approximately 1,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day (78% gas). The effective date is Oct. 1, 2008. Closing is expected by Jan. 20.
