Privately held, Calgary-based Shelter Bay Energy Inc. has acquired 4.1 million class A shares of Painted Pony Petroleum Ltd., Calgary, (Toronto Venture: PPY-A) from Crescent Point Energy Trust, Calgary, (Toronto: CPG-UN) for C$18 million in cash. The shares represented 14.6% of class A Painted Pony shares. Shelter now holds a total 5.9 million Painted Pony class A shares, or 20.8% of outstanding stock. Painted Pony has operations in southeastern Saskatchewan for high-netback, light, sweet oil and northeastern British Columbia for high-impact, multi-zone, sweet gas.
