Baytex Energy Trust, Calgary, (Toronto: BTE-UN.TO; NYSE: BTE) has acquired Burmis Energy Inc., Calgary, for approximately C$208 million in stock. Baytex paid 0.1525 trust unit per Burmis share with approximately 6.38 million trust units issued. Production averaged 3,791 barrels of oil equivalent per day during the first quarter 2008. The Burmis assets are principally multi-zone liquids-rich gas and light oil properties in west-central Alberta, and include approximately 9.5 million barrels of oil equivalent of proved plus probable reserves and 110,300 net acres of undeveloped land at year-end 2007.
