TRC Capital Corporation of Toronto has made an unsolicited offer to acquire up to 1.5 million trust units at C$27.25 per unit of Harvest Energy Trust (NYSE: HTE; Toronto: HTE) representing approximately 1.03% of the outstanding trust units of Harvest. The offer represents a 3.8% discount to the trust unit closing price on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Oct. 17 of C$28.33. Harvest has recommended that unitholders not tender their trust units to this offer.
