Acquired 80% interest in PEP 38524, offshore Tasman Bay.

Australian Worldwide Exploration Ltd., North Sydney, Australia, (Australia: AWE) has acquired an 80% interest in PEP 38524, offshore Tasman Bay in a farm-out from Austral Pacific Energy Ltd., Wellington, New Zealand, (Toronto Venture: APX; Amex: AEN) for an undisclosed price. Australian Worldwide will fully fund acquisition of some 350 kilometers of 2-D seismic within the permit. PEP 38524 covers 2,187 square kilometers west of D'Urville Island. The area is interpreted to form an extension of the South Taranaki Basin, which includes the Kupe South and Maari oil and gas fields.
