Sterling Resources Ltd., Calgary, (Toronto Venture: SLG) has acquired the 80% interest in the Romanian Black Sea blocks XIII Pelican and XV Midia from Talisman Petroleum Ltd., a subsidiary of Talisman Energy Inc., Calgary, (Toronto: TLM) for an undisclosed price. Sterling previously held a nonoperated 20% interest in these blocks. The blocks cover an area of more than 1.1 million acres and contain several mapped prospects and the Doina gas discovery in the southern Midia block.
