Cirrus Energy Nederland BV, a subsidiary of Cirrus Energy Corp., Calgary, (Toronto Venture: CYR) has acquired 25% nonoperated interest in L8-D Field offshore the Netherlands from Voorburg, The Netherlands-based Petro-Canada Netherlands BV, a subsidiary of Petro-Canada, Calgary, (Toronto: PCZ; NYSE: PCA) for an undisclosed price. The assets may potentially extend into the L8b license, and Cirrus will pay an overriding royalty to Petro-Canada. The L8-16x well was tested at 16.1 million cubic feet of gas per day. Cirrus Energy recently acquired a 25% in L8-D Field from Kassel, Germany-based Wintershall Noordzee BV and now holds 50% in the field.
