EnerVest Ltd., Houston, has acquired operated and nonoperated producing properties in the Texas Austin chalk formation from Chesapeake Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, (NYSE: CHK) for $80.5 million, an exit from the region by Chesapeake. The assets include 276 wells in Lee, Fayette and Brazos counties. Net proved reserves are 59 billion cubic feet equivalent. Production is 12.3 million cubic feet equivalent per day.
