To acquire 4,200 acres in Haynesville/Bossier shale play in Shelby & Sabine counties, TX.
Goodrich Petroleum Corp., Houston, (NYSE: GDP) plans to acquire an average 58% working interest in 7,300 gross (4,200 net) acres primarily in Shelby and northern Sabine counties, Texas, targeting the Haynesville and Bossier shales from an undisclosed seller for $9.6 million in drilling carries. The deal involves no upfront cash consideration, and equates to $2,285 per net acre in carried drilling costs. With the acquisitions, Goodrich's Haynesville shale acreage increases to approximately 89,500 net acres.
