CERF GP Corp., the general partner of Canadian Equipment Rental Fund LP, Calgary, (Toronto Venture: CFL-UN) has acquired privately held, Wetaskiwin, Alberta-based Maplethorpe Contractors Ltd. for C$5.7 million in cash and units.

CERF issued 890,000 LP units at C$2.50 each and paid C$3.48 million in cash.

Maplethorpe is an integrated waste management company. It will operate as a subsidiary of Canadian Equipment Rental, which provides rental, sale and services of industrial and construction equipment to the Canadian energy industry.
