Secure Energy Services Inc., Calgary, (Toronto: SES) has completed the acquisition of Calgary-based Marquis Alliance Energy Group Inc. for C$131 million in cash and stock.

Secure paid C$65.5 million in cash and issued 10.01 million shares.

Marquis Alliance provides drilling fluids and drilling fluid systems to the U.S. and Canadian oil and gas industry. The company provides products and systems designed for complex wells such as horizontal wells and horizontal SAGD wells.

The company focuses on plays such as Muskwa shales of the Horn River Basin, the Cardium of central Alberta, the Montney in the Deep Basin of Alberta and British Columbia, the oil sands of Alberta and Saskatchewan and the Bakken of Saskatchewan and North Dakota.

The acquisition of the second largest Canadian drilling-fluid company allows Secure to provide a broad integrated drilling-fluid services.
