Brigham Exploration To Add 10,000 Acres In ND Rough Rider Project
To purchase 10,000 acres in ND Rough Rider area in Williston Basin.
Brigham Exploration Co., Austin, Texas, (Nasdaq: BEXP) plans to acquire more than 10,000 net acres in the northeastern portion of its Rough Rider project area from an undisclosed seller for an undisclosed price.
Upside includes 23 potential Bakken drilling locations based on 1,280-acre spacing and three wells per spacing unit and 23 net potential Three Forks locations. Brigham plans to drill its first operated Rough Rider Three Forks well during second-quarter 2010.
The deal will increase Brigham's acreage position in Rough Rider to approximately 115,000 net acres and in the Williston Basin to some 157,000 net acres.
The deal is expected to close by April 10.
