D.J. Simmons Inc. has retained A&D Insight to find a joint-venture partner for interests in the Paradox Basin of Colorado and Utah.

The package includes a 70% average working interest (84.5% average net revenue interest) in 64,000 net acres in Dolores County, Colorado, and San Juan County, Utah, in the eastern Paradox Basin. It is divided approximately 50% BLM/state leases and 50% fee minerals.

The prospect targets the gassy Pennsylvanian shales of the Hovenweep and Gothic zones with a combined thickness averaging 125 feet and containing approximately 1 trillion cubic feet of recoverable gas.

Approximately 10,000 net acres of the offering are in an established area of mutual interest with Bill Barrett Corp. which includes data on drilling in the AMI. Operations are available on 54,000 net acres outside of the AMI.
