East Resources Inc.

East Resources Inc. has retained Jefferies & Co. Inc. to sell acreage prospective for the Marcellus shale in western Pennsylvania. The package includes approximately 70,600 net acres in Lawrence and Butler counties (87.5% net revenue interest) for all depths through the base of the Oriskany. More than half of the acreage expires after 2014. The Marcellus in this area is approximately 100 feet thick with vertical drilling depths between 4,000 and 5,500 feet. In January 2008 East drilled West #1 in Butler County which tested at 750,000 cubic feet per day at a cost of $630,000. It is currently shut-in waiting on compression and hook up.
