Houston American Energy Corp. (NYSE MKT: HUSA) is looking for an investment bank to explore strategic alternatives.

The bank will look for strategic alternatives, including additional financing, financial or industry partners, selling some or all of its assets or the company in its entirety. Its board has made no firm decisions about any transaction yet, according to a statement issued by the company.

Houston-based Houston American Energy Corp. is an upstream operator with a mix of producing and non-producing assets in Colombia, Texas and Louisiana. Its stock has struggled since late February.
