NEW, Private producer K.P. Kauffman Co. Inc., Denver, has retained Merrill Lynch Petrie Divestiture Advisors to sell the company, which holds interests in some 1,100 wells in the Denver-Julesburg, Piceance and North Park basins. The company has operations in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. It also holds or has an interest in oil-service companies JWS of New Mexico, Kauffman Transportation Co., Kauffman Well Service, Wattenberg Disposal, Kauffman Pump and Supply, Kauffman Land and Development, and Aviation Technology Services.
