Schlumberger Ltd., Houston, (NYSE: SLB) has acquired privately held, Richmond, Calif.-based GeothermEx Inc., a geothermal consulting service company, for an undisclosed cost.
GeothermEx was established in 1973 and specializes in geosciences, drilling, engineering, project development, reservoir management and economic analysis.
The company now operates as an integrated part of Schlumberger Geothermal Services. Schlumberger says the acquisition better strengthens its position to support geothermal customers worldwide.
