Sterling Energy Plc

NEW, Sterling Energy Plc (London: SEY) has retained Sterling Energy Advisors to seek a farm-in partner offshore northwest Madagascar. The package includes an equity interest in the undrilled Ampasindava Block in exchange for funding 20% of the well cost. ExxonMobil Exploration & Production (Northern Madagascar) Ltd. is operator. The 11,000-square-kilometer block overlies a large Jurassic rift basin in which a large trap has been identified at 1,400 to 1,900 meters. The data room is open. Bids are due by Jan. 24.
