Sumitomo Corp.,Petro Summit Investment UK

Japan's Sumitomo Corp. via subsidiary Petro Summit Investment UK has retained Jefferies & Co. to offer oil assets in the U.K. Central North Sea, according to Reuters. The package includes stakes in nine producing oil fields producing 5,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, plus developments and an exploration portfolio. Partners include Royal Dutch Shell, Talisman Energy Inc., BG Group Plc, Nexen Inc. and Venture. The bid due date will be near the end of September.
