Tracker Resource Development LLC has retained Meagher Oil & Gas Properties Inc. to sell certain interests in the Bakken shale play in the Williston Basin in North Dakota. The package involves an 80% average net revenue interest in 33,553 net acres in Dunn and Stark counties with controlling interest in 33 sections. Fifteen sections control 1,280-acre drill-site spacing units. Leases expire in late 2010 and in 2011. The majority of acreage is covered by fee leases. The acreage is situated in the emerging Bakken/Threeforks pinch-out fairway with the primary target being Middle Bakken. The Russian Creek anticline provides a structural trap. It is on trend with successful Bakken and Three Forks wells and is adjacent to fields that have produced more than 75 million barrels of oil. Madison, Lodgepole, Bakken and Red River zones are productive in the area as well. The bid due date is Aug. 20. The effective date is July 1. Closing is expected by Sept. 15.
