Trans-Orient Petroleum Ltd.

Trans-Orient Petroleum Ltd. has retained Rundle Energy Partners to farm out interest in its New Zealand petroleum exploration permits. The package includes an opportunity to earn up to an 80% working interest in two permits on 2.2 million acres on the East Coast of the North Island. Prospects include unconventional shale and conventional Miocene reservoirs. Trans-Orient has a 100% interest in PEP 38348 (North) and PEP 38349 (South). The phase one carry commitment will include drilling two wells by November 2009 to earn a 20% working interest, with 40% for phase two and up to a total of 80% working interest and operatorship ultimately.
