Brandon Dewan
Accolades: In 2017, Eagle Pipe was named the Industry Supplier of the Year by Oil & Gas Awards at the organization’s 2017 Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Awards in Denver, as well as being awarded 2017 Best Companies of the United States by U.S. Business Executive magazine.
Dewan considers guiding the company through the downturn to be the most challenging moment of his career. He had to adjust quickly, develop new strategies and work overtime. “This experience pushed me to improve my problem-solving and creativity, and work hard to set the company up to not only survive and be successful during the downturn, but also to put us in a position to capitalize on the market rebound.”
No one knows when that will be or what it will look like, but Dewan said Eagle Pipe can handle any buy- American trade orders that might come down, as its primary steel pipe mills are in this country.
Career path: Prior to helping form Eagle Pipe, he worked at a pipe distributor called Premier Pipe, in Houston, from 2005 to 2013. They are now a competitor. “I always had an entrepreneurial business sense and planned to start my own company at some point. … I [decided to take] the bull by the horns and go for it.”
On industry: “From fueling our cars to heating our homes, to the thousands of products that are a result of our industry, the oil and gas business is at the forefront of the world. Being a part of it every day creates a motivation to work in, and be a part of, this great industry. It is an ‘addicting’ industry that will draw you in and instill a passion for the business in you.”
