Description
An appraisal test is underway by Chevron Corp. at the company’s Ballymore discovery, a 29,194-ft oil find announced in early 2018. The #2 OCS G34451 will be drilled in the south-central portion of Mississippi Canyon Block 607 and area water depth is 6,600 ft. The Ballymore discovery is about 1 mile to the southwest at #1 (BP2) OCS G34451 and hit more than 670 ft net oil pay with excellent reservoir and fluid characteristics. Other tracts in the Ballymore prospect include Block 650 (OCS G34905) and Block 651 (OCS G34454). Chevron operates and holds a 60% stake in the prospect, and Total SA owns the remaining 40% interest.
